"chromonica problem"

   Hi everybody.
I have always played diatonic harps.
Last month decided to learn playing a chromatic harp and bought a super chromonica 12 holes. It sounds good except for the 9th hole, draw, slide in. It simply doesn't sound at all. NOTHING!
I checked the reed and windsaver and they seem all right.Maybe i don't draw correctly? There is something that i do wrong? 10th to 12th sound great so souldn't be my fault on 9th...
Please help me!!

In this case, it may be the harmonica. If the 9 draw without the slide in works fine, you've probably have a stuck reed. It should be able to "ping" nicely when you gently pluck it with a tiny screwdriver, like the surrounding draw holes.

That's about the best I can do without actually looking at the harmonica. There's a good book on chromatic repair at our Store which goes into much more detail-

Good luck,

My favorate harp. Hohner has good quality control so assume a new one is in working order. Try harder at coaxing sound out of the reed, you know, diaphram control, breath control, mouth shape, tongue position, etc. different reeds in the same harmonica can respond differently. Good luck.
