Hey Pete,
I'll try to answer a few,
1. Can a regular mic be used? Yes, Shure 57's & 58's are very popular. Also the 545, Mr Butterfields mic of choice.
2. Whats the Difference, harp vs regular mic?
Hi Z and Low Z or impediance. High for Guitar amps. Low for PA's.
3. Can a Bass Amp be used? Yes, the Fender Bassman is very popular, but a solid state
amp is not a good choice IMHO. You want tubes.
Difference? Bass is made for Bass, Guitar is made for Feedback, Distortion, Effects, and Higher tones... I use, and like the Fender Blues Deluxe and the Pro Junior, both guitar amps...
4. Custom Harps? Judging by your questions, I would not worry about Custom harps just yet.
Lee Oscars, Special 20's, Golden Melodys are a
Great place to start, and you can buy them thru this site.... It helps keep the site going...
