Hey, I'm new to the harmonica and any help from experienced players would be appreciated. I've got a few questions already.

Eventually a want to get a mic and amp. What is the difference between a harmonica mic and a regular mic? Can a harmonica be played on a regular mic? If so, what features should I look for?

Also, does anyone have experience with

Can a bass guitar amp be used with a harmonica? What's the difference between that and a regular guitar amp?

When a reed is dead and needs to be replaced, if I purchase the reed plates, I have to replace the entire plate, right? Can't replace just the dead reed? If only one reed is dead, can I replace just that reed plate and not the other reed plate? Save the other reed plate for when another one breaks?

More on reed plates... if I put different key reed plates in a harmonica originally for a different key, would this work? Therefore be able to buy the correct reed plates and use them to switch my harmonica to different keys?

Last question. Are the custom made harmonicas worth the money? Disadvantages, advantages?

Thanks so much for any help you can give.

-Peter
