: : I'm just curious, BluzHarper, what's your preferred harp?

: I have a full set of Lee Oscars which I used to gig with. I have 7 Golden Melodys C A D G E Bb F for acoustic playing, I think they sound best. I prefer Special 20s, which I modify by opening up the back for better sound projection, and I do some reed tweeking. They dont last long but I love them. I have Sp 20`s in my truck, at work, everywhere. I learned to tune them up when they go flat so they last longer. For the record Iam at best a mediocre player, so this is just my opinion. I think Lee Oscar makes the best stock harmonica period. I have yet to blow one out. Totally I have over 40 some harps. And to think I quit guitar and started playing harp to save money.

Hey Bluz...
Whoever told you that you are "at best a mediocre player" probably is having a laugh with the knowledge that you believe it. I consider myself better than mediocre, but I'm awed by your encyclopedic knowledge of technique as well as your technical know-how.
I play a variety of instruments, but when it comes to the subject of equipment, I consider my expertise limited to moving speaker columns, untangling wires and tuning (with the help of a tuner) the guitars and basses (sometimes I also bring my fretless bass to gigs).
I don't expect any brownie points for saying all this, but please don't sell yourself short in your future postings!
