: : Hey Jim,
: : We have a house full of cats and most of them just ignore the the harp sound when I am practicing......except for one. No matter where he is at when I practice he comes over and sits down and listens like he enjoys it! The two dogs we have are a different story. Howling....
: : Harp on,

: I used to have a sheltie who would howl along with me when I played. I thought it was cute. I found out later, that he was howling because it hurt. Talk to a vet. My border collie hates it also. Do you enjoy feedback in the higher ranges, 10K - 16K? The same pain you feel, when a bad sound engineer with hearing deficiency starts blasting the high end of a guitar, is closely related to what the dog feels. They just aren't as good at communicating it to humans.

No way, I have a wolf hybrid that loves to howl when I play, also my roomate's pit/lab never howled to a harp until meeting my dog, and my girlfriends puppy. they all run into the room(not out of it) start wagging their tails and going off. and it's mostly on the lower bent notes. My wolf hybrid especially loves rollin' and tumblin' in G.
