I used to have a sheltie who would howl along with me when I played. I thought it was cute. I found out later, that he was howling because it hurt. Talk to a vet. My border collie hates it also. Do you enjoy feedback in the higher ranges, 10K - 16K? The same pain you feel, when a bad sound engineer with hearing deficiency starts blasting the high end of a guitar, is closely related to what the dog feels. They just aren't as good at communicating it to humans.
