Hi! First of, picking which harp you want to get depends on what kind of music you want to play. If you are more interested in classical and really advanced jazz music, you may want to pick up the chromatic. However, if you like the blues stuff and stuff that you hear on the radio like Aerosmith's harp solos and Blues Traveler's solos, then you want a diatonic, which is much cheaper anyway. And to sterilize the harp, run a mixture of water and (rubbing) alchohol through it, then dry it well. This is what I was told to do, and I hope it worked! I hope this helps. Later.
