The rainbow harmonicas I have used play just fine. They correspond to holes 4-7 of a standard 10 hole harmonica.
I think it might be an easy way to learn music. The book it comes with has songs written not only in color-coded harmonica tabs, but also in standard musical notation, making it easier to learn to read music. I think you'll like it.
