tips for bending with tongue blocking?

any special tips for learning to bend for someone who does single notes by tongue blocking, or are the tips the same as for those who single note by puckering the lips? i have to tongue block because one side of my mouth is paralyzed and i can't pucker. i've been trying to bend for a few days now and no luck.
