Thanx Stan. I'll see what I can do bout tracking down a good sound file example. I'll put it up on another post when I do. Guess it all boils down to ear training and practice. But I'll deffinately have no problem with that! Thanx.

: Yes there is a way to tell, but unfortunately, you won't be able to tell until you can do all the techniques and have done them and heard them for quite sometime (BTW, the other technique to throw into the mix is "Throat Vibrato"). At that point it's very obvious which is which.

: The only shortcut aside from a few years of playing is to find someone to listen to the sound and tell you what it is. If you post a link to a streaming audio sound from Amazon, I'll bet myself or someone else could tell you what it is you're listening to. Put one up here if you want, I visit this board every few days or so.

: For the record,
: Little Walter- a lot of warbles and throat vibrato
: Sonny Terry- a lot of hand effects

: Good luck,
: Stan

: : Listening to some oldy blues (i.e. - Little Walter, Junior Wells, Sonny Terry etc.) and I keep hearing what sounds like either a chord tremelo, or a really well developed warble/trill. I can't tell which? Is there any way to audibly decipher this without actually seeing it?

: : Thanx much.
