I was searching for a local teacher on the web, when I ran across a listing for the Grand Rapids Harmonica Club. (See if there is one close to you at (http://www.harmonicalinks.com/organiz.html).
I visited with them last week at a regular meeting. That was an eye-opener into the world of Harps. Bass, Chords, Tremlos, and a lot of Chromatics. They played as a group (about 25 guys) then broke up into smaller groups and jams.
Most of the guys were older, but damn they were good. They played old standards and spirituals mostly. Five foot blue and eyes of blue, Do Lord, etc.
Anyway, I'd recommend hunting down a group of harpists like this.
