I tried the G40V at a music store and was not impressed with the tone and it was prone to feedback with the two mic's I brought in. Go to ebay or your local used gear trader and look for a vintage Silvertone, Kalamazoo, Supro, Premier, Alamo, Gibson, or Fender tube amp. If you do want to buy new look into the Crate VC508.

Good luck

: I am a sax player by training but now moving into the world of blues harp. Thought this would be a piece of cake to learn but the joke's on me! Harp players have gained my utmost respect!

: I have settled in with a Golden Melody and ready to take it to the next level. Was planning on buying a green bullet and a Pignose (Hog20 or 30), but am now concerned that the few gigs I play this size amp wouldn't cut it (it will be mic'd thru PA).

: I'm now considering a G40V but would like to hear from anyone. I've scanned the msg boards and saw one rave about the G60V but that's overkill for me. Are there other comparable brands I should consider? Help!
