I'm fairly new at the harp but I think this is where I can finally make a contribution this message board. If any of the vets around here see that I'm misguided, please correct me. New Blues Harps are shiny. The brownish color on the cover plates is probably just tarnish. The Blues Harps are Nickel plated and this causes them to tarnish quickly. Mine was tarnished after the first time I used it! When you buy one it’ll look pretty close to what you see in the picture (Minus the lighting they’ve used to make it look even more shiny than it already is).
