: my band are making rock music, and hopefully once I get better at playing harmonica expect me to be playing mad harmonica solos over a metal backing, has anyone tried applying any electronic effects to a mic'd up harmonica? (But first of all, I need to get good at playing the harmonica!)

Hey Stu,
Always glad to help! I appreciate the positive feedback.
If you want to check out some hard rocking harmonica, check out Blues Traveller. John Popper plays a wild harmonica for the group. In addition to his wild wailing with Blues Traveller, he was also featured on two songs on Pocket Full of Kryptonite by the Spin Doctors. He played on More Than She Knows (which is my favorite song on the album) and Off My Line.
If those songs are too difficult for you to play, rest assured that there are hundreds of other songs to demonstrate your mastery on.
With practice, you'll improve.
Wishing you success in your endeavors,
Patrick
