: I started learning on a chromonica, using the tongue blocking technique for single notes. Now trying to bend notes on a Golden Melody. No problem at all with 1 draw (no tongue blocking required), but with 4 draw I can only bend by stopping tongue blocking and "puckering up", combined with tilting the harmonica. Should I be able to bend the note while tongue blocking? I don't want to get into bad habits which I will have to unlearn later.
Learn to bend with the pucker method. Bending is much harder with the tongue blocking embouchure. Do what comes easiest. You may come to find that you mix tongue blocking and puckering when you play.
