: Folks,
: How can I find out what harmonica (key) Lennon was using on select early Beatle songs? I have a blues harp in C, and it works ok for ' I Should've known better' and 'Love me do' but 'Please Please me' and later beetle hits with harmonica elude me. I've seen the books available, none help or are accurate keys to the original tune. I wish there was a person who can tell me Lennon played a 'this' and a 'that' on 'this' and 'that' song, then I would happily purchase a ' 7' piece set from you if that what it calls for.

: Do you know anyone who has an ear for those tunes and can help map for me the songs and the suggested (key) harmonicas I need to purchase to play these songs to a tee - short of buying every diatonic and chromatica key available?

: Can you shed some light on this?

: Thank you

: Robert

Hey Robert...

I haven't the answers...yet.

I suggest that you check out Jon Gindick's site. He has some unorthodox, but very practical and effective methods, which I strongly recommend.

I normally endorse the orthodox methods, which teach standard music notation and theory & harmony. Mr.Gindick's technique of instruction is exceptional (an exception to the normal rules of teaching music), effective and absolutely worth checking out.

Check out his web site. But if you decide to buy some of his courses, just tell him to put me on his payroll! (Honestly, I don't get one red cent for advertising.)

Wishing you success in your endeavors,

Patrick
