As dg said below, crappy harmonicas leak air (period). Gapping will not hlep!! The reed plates are not sitting on the comb properly because they or the comb is warped and it's not fixable. It's like trying to tune up an old Hyundai to run like Mercedes.

: Thanks for the answers. I DO value my health, and for that reason I cleaned the harps before I played them.....I used H2O2 (peroxyde) so they are sterile!

: Buying new is the sensible thing, that's right. Problem is I happen to be a 'gear fool' too who wants to 'understand' his stuff and tinker with it! (Yes, I ruined a lot of things this way......;) )
