: I really want to learn how to play a harmonica. But I am not sure what kind i need to get. If you could help me i would appreciate it.
Let me give you bit more detailed advice. Almost all beginning harp players should begin in the key of C no matter what, because that is a standard. If you really want to jump right into blues, you should still stick with C until you learn how to bend the notes. Yes Special 20's are the most durable and least expensive. I highly recommend them. Lee Oskar is okay but you lose pitch in a matter of months. If you're a beginner,
DO NOT practice with Golden Melodies,Blues Harps,
or any wooden combed harp. You will destroy your mouth. Before you start playing true riffs, take the time to break your harp in. This is done with consistant playing, and you have to carry your harp with you at all times, no matter what. Also
soak your harp in cool water for about 2-4 minutes, before playing, esp. a new harp.
