Not a huge problem... The reason most prefer C, I think is because, a) it's well balanced in the range between high and low and b) most songs you know are probably played in the key of C. However, if your goal is simply to learn the basics, and maybe play a few songs, I can tell you a few Blues Traveler and Paul Butterfield songs in the key of A...

: I got a harmonica for the holidays, but its tuned in A. all sources tell me that you should start on a C harmonica. 1) how big a problem is this and 2) can I compensate for it somehow? Id rather not get a new one because my parents just got me the A and wouldnt love it if I went out and got another.
