: Anybody else tried the Hardwood Harp? I've got 2 ( Tulipwood A & Kingwood D ) and I'm getting the third (Bloodwood, ?key) this Christmas. I love the look and tone of these. The mouthpiece is certianly inovative and I think helps correct breathing style and airflow, resulting in better tone. Replaceable reeds, nice airtight construction. But expensive if you happen to break one!

I haven't tried them, but I know of them. They look wonderful. Yet they come with either choice Hohner MS or Lee Oskar reedplates. AFAIK you even have to assemble them yourself. I think it is a nice gift for a harmonica enthousiast, but I wouldn't spend that much money on a harmonica with stock reeds and plates. For that cash I can have Joe Filisko or Tim Moyer customize me a standard harmonica and have much more to p;lay with.
But they are nice looking and surely an eye catcher.
Happy harpin'
