: How do you trully clean a harmonica without damaging it?

Hi Andre!

If you have harps with plastic combs, as I do, there is a simple rule. If a harp looks too bad to play, I dump it into a glass of warm water and add one or two denture cleaning tablets, you know: the fizzy ones. They are made to clean off all gunk buildup and other stains on dentures, so why not on a harp.

Leave it in for about 10 to 15 minutes, take it out and rinse it under running water. Then use a nail brush or something alike to remove gunk residu from the creases and you're done. Gives your harp a fresh minty taste afterwards too! :)

Do not - repeat: NOT - perform this with wood bodied harps. You will ruin them!

Happy harpin'
