Your not alone, "A" is a tough harp! Especially the low notes. They need a lot of air. Try adjusting the size of you oral cavaity... experiment. Open nose playing is ok and yes any way you look at it it takes a lot of air. However it's worth the effort, the low harps are great sounding! Also, when you get tired of cross harp, the low harps (G & A) are wonderful for playing straight, country tunes, hymns etc...
