: Just a brief question... is there a standard way of, well, I can't think of a better way of putting it... of noting notes? I've seen several different visual representations of blows, draws, bends, and the like, but I can't seem to find any particular standard.

: Additionally, I attempted to use a midi of "All Along the Watchtower"(granted, the Hendrix version wasn't the best to use :P ) along with the program "Harping" to plot out the notes to bits of the song.

: Being only a beginner(playing for about a month, and on a Hohner 'Pocket Pal,' if that tells you anything about how new I am), I thought plotting the notes would be the best way to pick up on some new songs and techniques, considering the extreme lack of written harp music on the internet. I have most of the notes plotted out just fine, but there are some marked as bends that baffle me... specifically, notes marked as, for example, "4 Bend 1," "1 Bend 4," "1 Bend 8," and "2 Bend 3." What, specifically, for these notes call for? This partially coincides with my question on standard notation, but may(?) require some experience with the actual program to answer.

Standard would be written music like anybody else plays... Piano, Guitar, Flute, etc. Otherwise you must follow the blow/draw/bend indcations of any given song... Which is ok, and you'll learn to adapt pretty quick. The best thing you can do for starts is learn where each note is on your particular harmonica. There is a ton of great teaching material on Harmonica Lessons.com... use it.

I'm busy at the moment, but I'll get some more info to you. Email me with some backround info...Do you have any musical experience, mucical taste..etc

Bill
