Its really a matter of choice! Just because its a 10 hole diatonic doesn't mean its a simple instrument (how many people can play like Little Walter). Many traditional church songs have a "country" flavor and lend themselves well to the 10 hole diatonic. A good song in mind is the "Happy Song" performed by the Brownsville Worship Team (on CD). I play this song often in church and its a great example of the "uplifting" melodies that can be played on the diatonic. I have a harp box with 12 different keys so I can play to just about any song that comes up in church. Im not knocking chromatic harps as I think in the right hands they sound absolutey beautiful. I plan to buy one and see what I can do with it - but I have my doubts about my ability to play heavy blues/country riffs on it.....
