The answer is yes and no. If you want to play in second position, which I can safely say most blues harmonica is played in, then yes use a C harmonica. 1st and 3rd positions are used in blues too, albeit not as much as 2nd. To play in the key of G, 1st position would use a G harmonica and 3rd would use a D harmonica.

It's confusing, but not too tough once you learn your way around the harmonica a little. This site explains everything about the positions, how to play in them, the differences, what harmonica to use for different keys, etc. Just look around, it will explain these things better than I have.
