: Hi -- I'm hoping someone can help me!

I will try, and keep it super simple. First most rock songs of that era are what they call 1 4 5 songs. Another way of saying that is three cord songs. Much like the Blues, in rock you will sound best playing in the 4 or second position. That means any song key, say A you just count up four. So A B C D 1234 Song key A = Harp key D. Now for playing rock, most of what you play will be fills or things like shakes. Thats when you shake the harp or move your head and inhale going back and forth between two notes. Some of the Blues Improv on this Site can be utilized for Rock very easily. A harmonica can add a lot of excitement to a Rock Band. It expands the potential of your groups musical expression. I hope this post helps.....Best of Luck and ROCK ON....bluz
