I would generally look toward player defect long before harp defect. However, the Marine Band is a wood bodied harp, which are notorious for leaking air. The 4 draw should not be that difficult to hit cleanly, and your description sounds like it could be a leakiness issue, IMHO. The 2 draw is most likely you. Takes a lot of practice to get good tone from 2D, especially on a G harp. Keep banging at it, it will come (eventually!)

: I recently bought a Hohner Marine Band harmonica in the key of G. Not long after I started using it I noticed that the 4 draw wasn't working right. I get very little noise no mater how hard I try, and it sounds bad. I thought maybe it was broken so I then bought another in the key of C. This harmonica has the same problem but with the 2 draw. What can I do to fix this?
