Yes, you can learn to play blues on a Big River harp. Not the best harmonicas in the world, but a good value for how cheap they are. They problem is that they tend to not be airtight, which is a problem because it makes bending and playing loud more difficult.
That being said, I use them all the time. Not my harp of choice, but like I said, a good value for the price.
