: Paul Butterfield was a great player, but he's dead.
Why is this revelant? Butterfield was a MONSTER player and a huge influence not only to harp players but to blues in general.
: Both Neil Young and Bob Dylan are fine musicians, who, like John Mayall and Charlie Musselwhite, have been around, endured and survived. they have recorded some classic records and are both capable harmonica players, but, IMHO, aren't of the same calibre as John Mayall or Charlie Musselwhite.
Change that sentence to Mayhall, Musslewhite, or Butterfield and I completely agree with you here. Lets just not mention Paul Butterfield in the same breath as Young or dylan harmonically speaking.
