I have the same problem when playing normally handheld. I use ordinary lipbalm, and it works great.
: When I play with a face holder on, its difficult since I need to move my head and not the harmonica. I find my self licking the harp to get it wet enough to slide my lips back and forth. this gets annoying mid-song, and causes chapped lips, after long periods of play.
