I love the first harp I bought... a Special 20... but last night on my way home I stopped to buy something different and decided on a Golden Melody. I don't like the fact that there is an indentation on the reed plates designed to receive the covers. Because of this indention the covers are slightly recessed AND the reed plates extend beyond the comb. That is rather irritating. When I disassembled the harp to see how I could modify and improve it, I discovered many greasy fingerprints on both plates. There was no apparent rust (see post of 1/7/02) but I wonder about Hohner's quality control. Never heard of gloves?
Bluzharper... care to write a paragraph on how you open up the backs and/or tweek the reeds? That would be interesting.
