The Special 20 is my favorite harmonica! The Pro, is a little heavier (in nature, not weight) - a little less flexible.... I'm not sure what it is about the Special 20... Still claims to be handmade. I believe it's the Marine Band reed/reedplates with a plasitc body, and screwed on coverplates. This gives it a great sound and added airtightness.
Both are nice to play... I've found it's best not to get to "one way thinking" about the harmonica. Experiment, try 'em out... I've got Blues Harps, Marine Band, Special 20, ProHarp, Lee Oskars, Hardwood Harps (clearly the most beautiful diatonic IMHO), Special 20's with TurboHarp Covers... Now there's something to try out!
And two chromatics: Huang 1264 and Toots Mellowtone.
All play well and each has it's own characteristics. So the main issue is knowing when to play which and why!
