3rd position is great! You're able to get all the notes of a blues scale, plus some great bends. Like the other positions on the diatonic, the more you play with it the more you'll like it. On my humble web page for the harmonica, there's a lesson called "the pervasive pentatonic" which gives a simple overview of some different positions for playing the blues. It's FREE! #3 & #5 are 3rd position oreinted.
