Well Steve, let`s deal with myth and legend first.Back when the slaves in the field would cry or sing, they were actually bending notes to express feelings. Blacks were the first to bend notes. Guitar, Harmonica, and Singing they wrote the book on bending notes for expressions sake. They figured out that a harmonica could be played in Cross position. The expression "Feeling Cross" back then meant, feeling mad or upset. When a Bluesman would say you play a cross harp it referred to expression. The term Blues Harp came later. The term Second Position refers to the subdominate, or the 4 in a 1-4-5 song....
