: I saw John Mayall last night at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, FL. He sounded good and is heavy into harp on his new material. He played material off his new release "Along for the Ride" I'm glad I took the time to go see him.

When I was a young, naive and inexperienced musician (in my 1st band, back in 1971), my lead singer turned me on to the LP "Looking Back" by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. One of the coolest selections was the instrumental "Blues City Shakedown." This gem can also be found in the collection "John Mayall-London Blues-1964-1969." "Blues City Shakedown" is, IMHO, just as much a classic as "Whammer Jammer" by the J.Geils Band. Check it out!
Wishing you success in your endeavors,
