: Hey guys
: I have a Hohner Marine Band diatonic, and since I am trying to play the blues, I spend most of my time drawing on low notes. The wood, between the notes, seems to have expanded, since it juts out more than the wood around the higher notes. It has not hindered my playing, and I am not sure if it will. I would just like to know if it is normal, and will I have to replace my harp soon? Thank you for all your help.
this is normal because when wood is wet or damp it expands, try not using the harp for a few days and you may find that the comb has shrunk back to normal size.i use marine bands a lot and find that it does'nt bother or hinder me when playing, although it can be a little rougth on the tounge and lips.if you like the marine band try its sister the special 20,it is the same as the marine band but with a plastic comb.
