That CD is great. I really like the Jazz Gillum number. He is also the harp player on the song right after the really annoying train song (I think its' "Crazy About You"). Good for learning bends and starting off on a bend. good to improvise to also.
The draw problem could just be unique to you and the ahrp, the key, etc. I had a devial off atime bending draw 4 on C harp. I could do it on most any other key. I've hard blues harps are easy to bend. I haven' had one for several years and really don't remember. Keep at it is all I can say. By the way, draw 3 has three bendable notes. Learn them all.
: This is my first vistit to this web site. This is great. I've been trying to play for about 5 months and have recently come accross a CD with lots of good licks.
: The CD is called Harmonica Blues and was released under the Yazoo Records Label in 1991. It includes harmonica acts from the 20's and 30's including folks like DeFord Bailey and Jaybird Coleman.
: If your interested you may want to check your local library.
: By the way, I'm still having trouble bending 3 draw. 1,2,& 4 seem to drop into place but 3 never reaches a completely new tone. Any suggestions?
: Great site webmaster. Thanks for being out there.
