: I've been working on bending recently (still have a tough time on 2 & 3 holes). Sometimes I get this very high pitched squeal, almost a ringing sound, on my Lee Oskars (never on my Hohners). Has anyone else heard this? More importantly, what is it and what causes it? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks...

Greetings Jezzmund,

Most likely just a difference in style. Little variences in construction, reed material, chamber width, etc... make for the need for continued experimentation. If this squeel is happening consistently on Lee Oskars, and not just one particular LO harp then buffing your technique is in order, which means more woodsheding. If, however, the squeel occurs on just one particular Lee Oskar, then buy a new harmonica or experiment with adjusting your reed gaps.

If you need more help with the later, or anything at all... post more questions here or email me directly.
