: I see all of these great looking mics on Ebay, astatics, turners, etc. still mounted but for what seems to be great prices. an outfit from florida called silvertone auctions alot of redone mics for decent prices.

I would think long and hard before buying an e-bay mic, and I would never buy an element from anyone on e-bay. Thats how you dump an old weak element. First and foremost theres no return policy and the feedback forum is nothing more than a joke. Youre sending money to a total stranger. You will be paying for something you can easily do yourself at a very low price. Mics can be found at flea markets, antique shops, any CB radio shop and sometimes at garage sales. Elements are sold on line from reputable sources on line coast2coastmusic, this web site, Kevins Harps ect. If you want a good mic at a good price from someone who stands behind them try www.midwestmicrophone.com they also sell and service custom mics and have the lowest prices anywhere. Do your homework and save..
Avoid e-bay and the conartists on it.
