: Tube amp. If the rectifier tube is pulled and converted to solid state. All the other tubes are left in place. Will this affect the nice tube sound or affect the distortion. Woud it still have a good sound for a harp? Thanks
The Bassman R.I. amp comes with a solid state rectifier. When it is pulled and replaced with a tube you lose about 5 watts output and gain more sag or warmth in the sound. It effects the tone. I would think just the opposite would happen if you replaced the tube with a SS rect.
