Well it would seem that someone has deleted my posts in regards to single note techniques, I guess I've discovered an "harmonica purist".
OK, all I have to say on the subject is this.....who cares if someone uses a "rebel" technique THAT WORKS FOR THEM huh? Why do you give a crap? Am I the only harmonica player who can see this? New styles, if not for the purpose of
exploring further the possibility of note construction and juxtaposition, or simply because I thought it would sound good, and is actually easier for me, with no loss of tone, I assure you, the way it sounds is the way it's supposed to sound.
You purists obviously have a very limited perception of what being an artist entails. It's about time someone with a true creative heart made something that deconstructed the limitations of strict, harmonica and mathematical theory.
Where would great art be if not for experimentation?
Do you also dislike Picasso's cubist portraits because they were anatomically incorrect? And mind you, he was a painter that knew how to paint accurately, for he had a more accurate eye than most of you
laymen, but chose to draw both eyes on the same side of the head anyway. Like Picasso, like
every other great thinker and artist, I know what the hell I am doing, it's unfortunate, however, that you harmonica purists are not smart enough to figure out where I'm coming from. I don't know why I'm even wasting my time making this obvious point. Art. Simple.
