Greetings everyone,
I was busy repairing my roommates computer when I noticed
this little blue box on his shelf.. it immediately caught
my eye and I picked it up. It was too dark to see what
was written, but when I opened it I was amazed.
a hohner blues harp!
I am the perfect example of someone who has always loved
the harmonica, but it just never dawned on me to get
started.
But now I had no excuse. I messed around with his key
of A harmonica for close to 2 hours ont hat evening.
The Montreal Jazz Fest vibe throughout the city.
I then did some searches on the net and of course found
this place! I read all that I could for beginners. I
think I'm doing very well so far, I can pucker, single
note Mary Had a Little Lamb (ps. I went out and bought
a Lee Oscar in the key of C, but then went out and
bought a Hohner Blues Harp in the key of C, I just
didn't like the feel of the Lee Oscar compared to the
Blues Harp). I just want to know if anyone knows of
an instructor in the Montreal area for harmonica lessons.
My problem is that I find it annoying to have to play
Mary Had a Little Lamb :) So I try my best to tackle
more and more stuff everyday. I tried to jam an improv
of Heartbreak Hotel.. eheh. I think my breathing is
coming along nicely, but I have to practice quicker
changes. (I am a bedroom DJ and I've played guitar for awhile,
so I find it very frustrating not to play in time :)
If I can't find an teacher, can anyone give me any
advice (aside from the lessons on this site which I am
following already).
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
