I'm pretty much a beginner too but one of the things I read in Mel Bay's Classical Chicago Blues Harp book was to tilt the front end of the harp up, just a little. What it does is close the lips around that single note a little easier so you aren't tiring out your mouth trying to maintain that pucker. Sounds incredibly simple, like you'd just know it, but the first time I tried it I nailed a clean, solid note. If you like Blues and are just starting out I'd recommend that book. Comes with a CD and I practice along with it all the time. It was a HUGE!!!!!! help in teaching me how to bend notes, which was another major ordeal until I read the book. Enjoy!
