Hohner makes a larger "Marine Band" with 12 holes and one with 14 holes. They are basically the same but the 14 hole has 2 extra holes at the high end. I like the 12 holes better because they are cheaper, leak less air, and you will never use the extra high notes. These can be bought from this site through the store here. The 12 hole key of C's are an octave lower than a regular C harp and are very cool.

Now I'm assuming you're referring to the diatonic harmonicas and not 12 and 14 hole chromatics. If that is the case, you need to go to a chromatic harmonica site and ask the same question.

Good luck,

: Does anyone know the difference between Hohner's 12 and 14 hole harps? Are they the same in notation except for 2 extra notes at the top of the scale, at the bottom or what?

: I have music for a 12 hole but the harp shop ordered me a 14 hole. Should I keep it or send it bacK?

: THanks
