I was having big time trouble trying to bend notes until I focused on the pucker method. Tongue blocking/curling came naturally. I've been reading/studying through a harp workbook by Mel Bay, I believe, Complete Classic Chicago Blues Harp. It showed how slightly tilting up the harp made it incredibly easy to do the pucker method without tiring your mouth. I also noticed that it made bending really easy, at least for me. I know we're all different but that finally put me over the hump.
: I have been playing for about a year and tounge blocking (TB) always seemed easier to me. I can do all the bends easily with TB. I am forcing myself to practice bending with the pucker method but right now it sounds pretty bad. I think it's a good idea to be able to do both. I also think thay most people find the pucker method easier. Maybe I'm a freak of nature. I guess I better get practicing.
