: I've been playing blues harp for some time now, and I have definitely reached a plateau.
: I can't figure out how those electric blues players get their vibrato, that
: single note warble that can make even a long 3 blow sound mean.
: I heard that there are different types; throat tongue and diaphragm vibrato.
: Any ideas as to how I might learn these techniques?

: You ever get an itch in the back of your throat that you have to try and scratch with your tongue? I'd compare the throat method to that motion youi make with the muscles that move the very back of your tongue. The diaphragm may be easier to practice though. It's more like a light clearing of the throat, a short cough repeated over and over until you can do it fast and still keep the throat slightly open. you need to feel the push of the airflow from down in the gut. Good luck, it's a tough one.
