Jerry Portnoy is a master at tongue blocking, he also offers an instructional 3 cd set called Jerry Portnoy's harmonica masterclass. Kim Wilson is another player who uses tongue blocking often, Little Walter used it, George Harmonica Smith. I would like to add that these players do not use it exclusivly, although Jerry Portnoy did only tongue block for method for a few years. Most pro players ( blues ) use the tongue block method to some extent, it is the only method that will allow you to play octaves.
: I understand from reading the faq that the author of this website feels tongue blocking is the only way to go because of the additional effects which can be achieved with it, as well as a fuller sound.

: Does anyone have examples of professionally recorded musicians which use each method? Or does "everyone" use tongue blocking?
