Take of the cover plates, then dunk it in hot soapy water, and wipe it clean w/ a dry cloth. It you cant get some reeds to make a sound, get a toothpick or matchbook cover and wipe it under the reeds individually, there is probably a crumb stuck in there.

A diatonic is the big harmonica w/ a button on the side that allows you to get the sharps and flats. You can bend the reeds a little, but not much. A diatonic is the regular, 10-hole harmonica, the more classic instrument for blues.
