We have to date established that the posting of tabs may well be illegal, and has not been pushed due, once again, to the fact that no one has the money to go up against a big corporation to change things. And we cetainly cannot expect this website to put their legal status at stake for us all.
That said, what is the difference between me going over to a friends house, and he teaches me a riff on the guitar versus him tabbing that same riff and sending it to me? Does that sound illegal? Does that sound unfair? Are any record companies seriously going to be upset about this?
What I suggest is that if you have tabs, you might e-mail a person who is looking for them and simply trade them or send them privately between the two people. We could even take it so far as to make a cheap little website on Geocities or Angelfire or something, starting a webring for Harp Tab traders. So you could e-mail whoever for whatever tabs. It could work, legally...
Think about it, let me know what you all think...
