"3'" Bend and 3' bend"

How necessary is it to nail the 3 double bend (G#)? Also, is there a trick to nailing 3' (Bb)? It seems that if I kiss/purse my lips on the harp, I get it. I even land while playing, but trying to get it cold turkey is way difficult? Any suggestions here?

PARSON: "How necessary is it to nail the 3 double bend (G#)?"
DG: It's not. It's a note of the 2nd Position scale that you will rarely or never use. But, it is a part of the big picture of ablility to bend hole 3 well and other holes also. When your bending technique is good, this bend will be easy.

PARSON: "Also, is there a trick to nailing 3' (Bb)?"
DG: Practice and getting the sound in your head. I have my private students use a riff or song with this bend in it as a reference melody. The "Spoonful Riff" is good for this-
